The WordStar command to insert a graphic into a file is ^P*
(Ctrl-P followed by an asterisk). To start the Inset program
(which allows manipulating and view graphics from within
WordStar), the command is ^P& (Ctrl-P followed by the ampersand).

The Hijaak utility, in this folder, is used by WordStar and Inset
to convert graphics from their native format to WordStar's
proprietary PIX format. It supports converstion from TIF, GIF,
PCX, and fifty-six graphics formats -- but these formats are NOT
supported: AVIF, BMP, JPG, PNG, WEBP.

This is the full list of recognized file extensions in
alphabetical order (most of the oddball ones are fax file formats
from various long-obsolete fax modems):

001 301 ADT ATT BRK CAL CAN CFP CG3 CGM CPF CUT DBX DCX DRW DXF
DXN EF3 EFX EZF F01 F02 F96 FAX FFF GAM GED GEM GIF IGF IMG JET
JTF KFX LBM MAC MIF MSP OAZ P10 PCL PCT PCX PGL PIC PIX PRD RIC
SCI SMF TBF TEF TGA TGS TIF TRI TXT WMF WPF WPG XFX

For more information, see the section "Insert, Graphic" in the
WordStar Reference Manual in C:\WS\MANUALS.

If you print a file containing WordStar .pix graphics, I suggest
existing WordStar once printing is finished and then reloading
WordStar again (or starting a new DOSBox-X or vDosPlus session).
WordStar can be unstable under both DOSBox-X and vDosPlus after
printing graphics. Better safe than sorry.
