WordStar for DOS is abandonware. The company that made it is
long since defunct, and the software hasn't been updated since
December 1992.

WS.EXE and SAWYER.EXE in C:\WS are already fully installed
versions of WordStar for DOS. You only need to use the
installation files in this folder if you want to make an all-new
version of the program. If so:

* Since WordStar's setup program will only run from a root
(topmost) folder on a disk, DOSBox-X think this folder on this
hard drive is a root (topmost) folder by using this command:

  MOUNT D: C:\WS\INSTALL

(where "D:" can be any drive letter that's free)

Then log onto the root folder of that drive by entering this at
  the system prompt:

  D:

(where D" is whatever drive letter you specified above).

* WSSETUP to install WordStar.

* When prompted, use this serial number: 33787979

* And follow the onscreen instructions.

DISK1.CAT through DISK20.CAT are the full contents of the
original ten WordStar for DOS North American English Version 7.0
Rev. D 3.5" installation diskettes. This was the final version
of WordStar for DOS ever produced, and has file dates of
1992-12-21.
