             A WordStar-like key configuration for
                           PC Outline
(version bundled with WordStar 5.0 and 5.5)

One of the problems with PC Outline is that it doesn't take
advantage of WordStar's cursor diamond. The attached
configuration file, WSPCOMAC.CFG can be installed by copying it
to the PCO directory, and, using the Advanced menu, listing that
filename under "Macros File/Path," and saving by pressing F10.
The next time PCO is loaded the new keyboard configuration will
be available.

There are several problems encountered in re-configuring
PCO's keys:

     (1) Since PCO's key configuration capabilities are only to
configure a single key, WordStar's 2-character codes may not be
used.

     (2) A few of my key re-configurations disrupt PCO's keys.
To correct this, ^S (Save) and ^D (delete outline family) have
been changed to alt-S and alt-D respectively so ^S and ^D are
available for WordStar's cursor diamond.

     (3) Using alt-S and alt-D means that the Show and Display
menus must now be accessed by F10 and arrow keys rather than
directly. These, however, are compromises I have chosen to live
with in order to use the familiar cursor diamond.

With the enclosed file WSPCOMAC.CFG the following keys are
reconfigured:

^A word left
^F word right
^S letter left
^D letter right
^E line up
^X line down
^R screen up
^C screen down
^T delete word to the right
^G delete character under cursor
^V insert off, write over mode

If you want to improve on any of these configurations, you
may do so following the key configuration directions in the
WordStar manual.
