                            PROFINDER
                  A WordStar Companion Program

Often ignored by WordStar users, ProFinder (which started
shipping with version 5.0 of WordStar) is a very powerful file-
searching utility for WordStar documents and text files. See
this webpage for a discussion of how I use it to manage research
materials for the novels I write:

                  https://sfwriter.com/pfoa.htm

My own USERSYN.PF and USERMENU.PF files are in C:\WS\PF\SAWYER --
studying them may give you some ideas.

Default installations of ProFinder have sorting by file extension
first and then by filename (so that APPLE.BBB is displayed after
BALL.AAA), which was frankly ridiculous. This installation has
the normal sorting scheme of name first then extension. You can
change this temporarily while running ProFinder by pressing <F7>
from its main screen or by running the PFINST.EXE
program in this folder.

Also daft: default installations of ProFinder have no file tiles
displayed anywhere (file titles are the descriptions of file
contents that can appear to the right of a file name in
ProFinder). I've provided sample ones for the files in this
folder. You'll see them when you run ProFinder (PF.EXE), and
they're stored in the TITLES.PF file.
