This is a collection of small, fast utilities designed
specifically for WordStar users. They were written by Peter
Mierau (CompuServe ID 76340,1121), the principal author of
WordStar versions 4 and 5. They may be distributed freely at no
charge. (Some of the utilities are here with two different
names, as they were originally released with the second names
given below.)

WSASC.COM Converts a WordStar file to plain ASCII format.
WS5ASC.COM

WSOLD.COM Converts a new WordStar file (versions 5.0 through 7.0)
WS5WS4.COM to the old WordStar format (versions 3.0 through 4.0).

ASCWS.COM Converts an ASCII file to WordStar format, with soft
ASCWS5.COM returns within paragraphs.

WSBIT.COM Removes the high-order bits from old WordStar files.
Newer versions of WordStar (after 5.0) do not require
these bits, and occasionally get confused by them.

WSNHY.COM Strips soft hyphens from WordStar files.

WSFIX.COM Repairs the pointer in a WordStar file to the local
paragraph style library (which is hidden at the
               of the document).

To find out how to use any of these utilities, just enter the program name
at the DOS prompt with no parameters on the command line.
